For over 15 years, Nikolai Pizarro, has worked to empower predominantly Black and Brown parents and caregivers, particularly segments further marginalized by socioeconomic factors, with science based frameworks of early brain development, literacy instruction, non-violent discipline, and self-directed education. Her work includes coaching with families looking to transition from conventional schooling to self-directed models and/or families who cannot but are committed to reconnect with our assignment to nurture young people rather than uphold and center schooling at home.

In response to collective needs, she’s launched an early literacy system, FREE literacy instruction catalog for parents as well as a community, youth led, permaculture installation in her home, currently being updated to include wheelchair accessibility.”
