Every Connection is Meaningful
This has been a wonderful year of community-building, support, spreading information and resources, and more. We are so grateful to be able to do what we do every day, and provide resources, support, and a lifeline for people who have have been involved in Self-Directed Education for years to people who are just starting out in their SDE journey.
We are almost to the end of our fundraising match and we still have over $7,000 to go! You have until midnight PST on December 31st for your donation to be MATCHED, including monthly donations which will be matched every month for 12 months.
One aspect of this movement that feels so important to me is providing support to those who are just starting out in this journey. We have people contact us all the time who are looking for support in learning about Self-Directed Education options; finding community in their area; looking for resources about deschooling, SDE facilitation, unschooling, and more; or just wanting to talk to someone personally about their questions, worries, and journey.
It is wonderful that ASDE can provide that central HUB, that community, that first contact in someone’s search for support as they look towards taking their child(ren) out of conventional school and finding something that works better for their emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing.
I truly believe that we cannot do this alone. And we are working together to not only make SDE accessible for every young person, but to build a community of those involved in this way of life.
