THIS WEEKEND we launch The Guided ASDE Compendium. We are so excited to engage in this learning experience with you all, and cannot wait to share The ASDE Compendium in this way.
There are just a few days left to join our first guided cohort, as sales end on Friday, April 11th at noon Eastern Time.
We have various pricing structures to make this accessible, and will turn no one away due to lack of funds. Email us at info@self-directed.org if you need to talk about options.

Welcome to New Board Member, Cassidy Younghans!
Cassidy recently joined our board and we are so excited to have her energy, passion, care, and wisdom on our team! Cassidy first connected with ASDE back in 2018 through our Local SDE Groups initiative. Since then she has done so much within SDE and in working directly with young people. We are beyond grateful that her path led her back to working with us on the board.
From Cassidy:
I am a lifelong learner and Self-Directed Education advocate who taught in conventional school for 5 years before pivoting to focus on supporting the Self-Directed Education movement. In exploring the world of SDE, I traveled and interned at various spaces and models of SDE before founding a center in Dallas, TX that ran successfully for 2 years. In September 2021, my teammates and I co-created a worker-owned cooperative self-directed learning community, Wild Roots Collective & Learning Community, where I currently serve as a lead facilitator. I am passionate about supporting the liberation of young people from oppressive systems and supporting adults to do the same. You can find more of my work and connect with me through my website.
Sudbury Roundtable Part 2!
The intention of ASDE Roundtable Discussions is to celebrate various models and frameworks of SDE and all the folks who are working within them.
For this talk, we are speaking with Sudbury folks for PART 2 on the various ways their Schools run. We will pick up where we left off, starting with how Sudbury Schools handle conflict.
Join us for this spectacular group of people who are helping to accelerate the Tipping Point, after which SDE is no longer an alternative but a fully legitimized way to live and learn.
If you missed PART 1, you can email us at info@self-directed.org to request a recording for a donation of any amount.
*This call will be recorded and shared with those who pre-register*
RCEN: Making Change Stick
Register here for the 2-in-1 RCE Making Change Stick action, organized by Uniting for Children and Youth, to expand and strengthen the Rights-Centric Education Network – RCEN. The RCEN unites people who believe in pulling education into alignment with the evolution of human rights.
Action 1: A global campaign until April 22nd to have as many people as possible sign the Declaration of Child Rights-Centric Education and participate in Action 2.
(Signing the Declaration is a way for us to collectively demonstrate to the world that we are a force to be taken seriously.)
Action 2: Five sessions spread over several weeks, starting April 22nd, that are aimed at building awareness of how to create bridges between rights-centric education and conventional schooling.
Find more information about the actions and sessions here.
Radical Learning Offerings
Becka and Sari, founders of Radical Learning, have multiple offerings for parents, facilitators, and anyone interested in deepening their learning about being in partnership with youth.
Parent Support Circles
These aren’t your average parenting groups. Radical Learning holds space for the real stuff – power struggles, fear, shame, unlearning, connection. These circles offer parents a supportive space to explore what it really means to raise kids without coercion, where inner work meets practical tools, and practice and empowerment are at the center. No one has to do it alone.
9 sessions per year, the 3rd Sunday of the month
8-9:30am PT, 10-11:30am CT, 11-12:30pm ET, 17:00-18:30 CET
The Shift
A 7-day immersive training for adults who are ready to go all in. The Shift is an embodied, relational journey to unlearn schoolishness, power-over dynamics, and fear-based control – and, instead, embrace trust, freedom, and consent as the foundation for learning and living. It’s transformative, messy, healing, and absolutely necessary. A parallel Kids Camp runs alongside the adult training, giving the whole family a chance to experience a consent-based, self-directed culture in action.
Join them on their USA Tour 2025 in:
