Description

Leaving behind the structure of conventional schooling can feel like both a relief and a reckoning. If you’re a former teacher or someone questioning your role in the system, you might be wondering: What does learning look like without control? How do I unlearn the habits and mindsets that were drilled into me? What about when others question whether I’m “doing enough”?

This workshop (with Sari González and Becka Koritz of Radical Learning) is an invitation to step outside the rules of conventional education and reimagine what’s possible. Together we’ll explore deschooling. Not just as a process for kids, but as a deep shift in how we see learning, power, and relationships. We’ll unpack the hidden ways coercion shows up in education, the conditioning we carry, and how we can move toward collaboration over control, trust over instruction, and connection over compliance. Whether you’re supporting your own kids or working with young people in another capacity, this session will help you unlearn, reframe, and step into a way of being that feels aligned and liberating even when it challenges conventional ideas of what education should be.

-Letting go of the “teacher” identity and stepping into a more facilitative, and co-learning role.
-Shifting from authority/control to shared decision-making and meaningful collaborati
