The Unschooling Summit Sunday Session: June 2026 – Deschooling Ourselves
Description
Unschooling naturally requires us to challenge our long-held beliefs about children, learning, parenting and lots more. This is incredibly valuable work, but it can also be extremely uncomfortable. With our guests, we’ll discuss the kinds of things that often come up and some strategies and tools to help you in the process.
Meet our wonderful guests
MAY LING THOMAS is a self-directed education facilitator, an unschooling mother of two, an organising member of the Freedom to Learn Network and a transformative coach and healer. Still recovering from internalised neo-liberal capitalism and white supremacy, her latest achievements include Lvl 431 in “Drop the Cat” and a 17-day streak of remembering to put the dishwasher on before bed.
DAN MOELLER is a teacher-turned-unschooling father, parenting coach, and advisor for self-directed education. He advocates consent, youth empowerment, and connection. He partners with his son on their ‘Unschooling With Kai’ podcast and their hilarious, in-progress book Bunny Stampede. He enjoys writing about all things unschooling, and can often be found reading, watching movies, skateboarding, wall-climbing, finding humor, making friends with local squirrels and crows, and spending time with his family.
