New Opportunities are Emerging

The Alliance organizing team has formed two new working groups: one to support members who are organizing local SDE groups, and one to accelerate the development of our ambitious new SDE Resource Directory (RD).

You can grab a sneak peek of the 25 resource categories we are including in the RD, here.

Stay tuned for new opportunities to contribute your knowledge and/or organizing skills and advance the Self-Directed Education movement!

Active conversations in the Member Forums:

  • What is my role as SDE facilitator?“The part of me that is trying to make my kids lives more educational thinks that I should be observing my kids more, being more skillful in noticing their interests and finding resources to extend them...”
  • Africa’s first Sudbury-inspired school“21 people between the ages of 3 and 15 signed the attendance book this week. Mostly English was spoken at the venue but home languages include English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, SeSotho and isiXhosa...”
  • Money“Has anyone had success fundraising for their SDE school/coop/center? Any tips on what works, what doesn’t, etc.?”
