SDE Optimizing Conditions

ASDE surveys all SDE communities/programs about how they provide, enhance, or align with each of the Six Optimizing Conditions for young people to succeed in SDE.  Survey answers:
  1. Responsibility – We believe that each learner is responsible for his or her learning and life; we not only actively communicate this to all, but subtly guide learners to exercise this responsibility in all aspects of living.
  2. Youth Autonomy – Each learner decides and plans what he or she wants to do and explore on a daily / weekly basis.
  3. Access to Tools and Technology – The whole Aarohi campus is an open resource for children to choose from and use for their explorations.
  4. Adult Allies – Their is absolutely no external assessment. Each learner self-reflects in order to self-assess.
  5. Free Age Mixing – Yes, we all do, learn, and live as one large community, with no age boundaries.
  6. Community – All decisions, from daily living to bigger and broader decisions, are co-created.
