Anywhere Learning
Description
Anywhere Learning is a website and blog created by Amelie Drouin, a former classroom teacher of 15 years based in Nelson, British Columbia, who left teaching to homeschool and worldschool her two children.
The site offers a free guide, a blog, and a library of hands-on project guides for children ages 6 to 14. Each guide is built around a real-world project chosen by the child, such as planning a trip, running a small business, studying a local ecosystem, or building a machine. Academic skills (math, reading, writing, science) and life skills (planning, problem solving, communication, money) are developed inside the project rather than taught as separate subjects. Guides are digital, adjustable by age, and designed for the parent to work alongside the child.
The approach favours real tasks over worksheets, unstructured time and boredom over scheduling, and following the child’s interests over a set curriculum. All content is secular and intended for any family, whether homeschooling, worldschooling, or supplementing school at home.
