Description
We are a collective of unschooling and homeschooling parents and young people who want to build community among teens and tweens (age 11-17) and share in the joy of learning with other Chicagoland families. We believe learning is very rewarding when it happens in community, with the support of peers and caring adults. We believe tweens and teens still need time to play and we resist the academic hustle– but we also want structured ways to help our tweens/teens gain exposure and insight into their future passions and learning pursuits. Most importantly, we want to give kids the ability to connect, to trust in and build community — something they’ll need most in these and future times.
We have four blocks of classes with a half hour of break in the middle at 12:30pm. In each block, there are 2-3 classes teens can choose between–except for Block Four which is a Free Hour in which teens can rotate among options as they wish from week to week.
We welcome families and kids of all religions, races, cultures, creeds, nationalities, backgrounds, and learning differences. We welcome and affirm families and kids who are LGBTQIA+, gender diverse, disabled, and/or neurodivergent.
