SDE Optimizing Conditions
ASDE surveys all SDE communities/programs about how they provide, enhance,
or align with each of the Six Optimizing Conditions
for young people to succeed in SDE. Survey answers:
- Responsibility – Self design a quality masters program with literally a hundred faculty members to choose from and then co-create the syllabus.
- Youth Autonomy – Everything is co-created, with the learner making all critical deisions. There are no grades. It is up to the learner to name how they want to express their competence.
- Access to Tools and Technology – Complete academic databses, books, and a huge faculty dedicated to self directed learning.
- Adult Allies – There in every way throughout
- Free Age Mixing – People of all ages from 2 to 90.
- Community – Yes. Some faculty are the leaders who have brought self directed learning to the public eye.
