Nau Mai, Haere Mai – Welcome to Weave
You’re not alone.
Like many of us at Weave, you might have landed here feeling:
– Exhausted by the usual parenting advice that just doesn’t work for your family
– Thrown into unschooling by process of elimination — even if you never planned on it
– Disappointed that the home-education dream hasn’t quite matched the reality
– Isolated, even though you know you’re doing what’s right for your child
– New to neurodivergence — maybe for your child, maybe for yourself — and unsure what comes next
Whichever of these reasons brought you here, we want you to know – we’ve been there too. And you don’t have to live it alone.
As a late-diagnosed AuDHD mama of two unschooled AuDHD kids (aged 7 and 10), I know the feeling of wondering if you’re the only one experiencing this — the isolation, the overwhelm, the deep desire to parent in a way that truly honours your children as well as your own needs... and the struggle there is in being the one to hold all of this.
That’s exactly why I created Weave.
To offer a place where we’re not expected to change ourselves or our kids. A space where we can be met and held with kindness exactly as and where we are. So we can rebuild our own capacity, our trust in ourselves and fill up our parenting toolbox.
SDE Optimizing Conditions
- Responsibility – Weave promotes (and provides opportunities for) parents building their own capacity so they can learn how to trust and hold space for this.
- Youth Autonomy – See above - helping parents unlearn schooling and learn about neurodivergence to better tune into their kids needs - ultimately resulting in them becoming more hands off.
- Access to Tools and Technology – N/A as this is a community supporting parents
- Adult Allies – N/A
- Free Age Mixing – N/A
- Community – Weave has community connectedness and healing in community at its centre.
