Self-Directed Education
Resource Directory

Worldly Tribe is a website for worldschooling, homeschooling, and travelling families. It is run by Vanessa Hope van Engelen, who travels full-time with her husband and two children, aged 9 and 2.

The site’s main resource is a directory of more than 420 worldschooling hubs, forest schools, learning communities and programmes in over 79 countries. Users can browse the directory or complete a short quiz that suggests hubs based on their family’s preferences.

Other resources include a country-by-country guide to the legal status of worldschooling and homeschooling, a free downloadable Worldschooling Roadmap, and lists of online learning programmes, books and documentaries for children. The site also publishes guides on visas, cost of living, accommodation and remote work for families living abroad, as well as accounts of the family’s own travels.

All resources are free to access. The site also runs a free Facebook community for travelling and worldschooling families.
