Description
We have a specific focus on collective liberation and creating spaces and events to support one another with that in mind.
Members cooperatively create the kind of community that is supportive, engaging and most of all … a soft place for us to land while navigating unschooling and self-directed education.
We host a variety of events and spaces such as coffee chats, themed support circles, special guest speakers and Q&A’s, as well as brave and safe spaces for Black, BIPOC, ND, and QUEER Unschoolers.
SDE Optimizing Conditions
ASDE surveys all SDE communities/programs about how they provide, enhance,
or align with each of the Six Optimizing Conditions
for young people to succeed in SDE. Survey answers:
- Responsibility – These are outlined in our community rules/ shared agreement.
- Youth Autonomy – Our adult members are all practitioners and advocates of SDE.
- Access to Tools and Technology – Our adult members are all practitioners and advocates of SDE.
- Adult Allies – Our adult members are all practitioners and advocates of SDE.
- Free Age Mixing – Our adult members are all practitioners and advocates of SDE.
- Community – These are outlined in our community rules/ shared agreement.
