Wildling Collective
United States
Description
Wildling Collective is an inclusive, secular, non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant homeschool community. We actively work toward a respectful learning environment that celebrates diversity and welcomes families of all backgrounds and beliefs.
This homeschool cooperative functions as a platform for parents to exchange peer support, collaborate, and curate diverse learning + social experiences.
On Mondays, entire families meet each week, exploring learning topics throughout a 14-week semester. We spend hours together, play games + do puzzles, make big messes + clean up. Each week, one family brings materials to explore a topic + a themed presentation each week.
Thursdays’ drop-off program for tweens + teens (for ages 10+) is new to our lineup. Due to a grant from Vela, the inaugural session was spring of 2024. Independent class facilitators engage directly with enrolled members to create a personalized learning plan. This program is specifically for older kids to explore learning, independence + social relationships with support. We’re excited to see how this program evolves!
Member families have collaborated on a growth plan that will challenge our kids, widen our breadth of knowledge + strengthen our community. We’re excited to share where we’re going + hope to develop the type of relationship with our rented facility to allow for a shared commitment to this vision.

SDE Optimizing Conditions
- Responsibility – Kids + adults suggest semester itinerary topics, then get involved to bring their suggestions to life. Example: Geography was split by family, each pursuing their own way to present their country of choice, the only shared prop a world map.
- Youth Autonomy – We offer shared tools, games, art supplies + safe spaces. No one is required to participate in the day's schedule + the kids often play outdoors all day.
- Access to Tools and Technology – As of right now, we do not have shared computers unless we bring in those tools for a project. Our facility does have internet + the kids/adults can use phones/iPads, etc.
- Adult Allies – Never grading or testing. We currently are a whole-family space, so lots of allies. But people are at different points in their deschooling journeys + we have conversations when we hit any friction.
- Free Age Mixing – 100% - current ages are 1-51.
- Community – Community is our jam! We're 100% collaborative + members of all ages know their voice counts.
